Travel Day and First Day in Viet Nam

San Francisco à Hong Kong à Ha Noi

Hi guys I am in the airport traveling. I am going to have to switch planes in Hong Kong because the plane has to stop for fuel. It’s going to be a 14 hour long flight. The first plane is going to be 12 hours which is a day because the plane is bigger and it is going to fly over the Pacific Ocean and the China Sea. And the little plane is flying to Hanoi. 
When we waited to depart, there was a first class and economy line. The economy line was much longer. My sister always wants to be in first class because she is Gucci. I don’t care if I am in economy class because I can sit near the wings of the plane and see the engines. 
I made sure I could see the air come off the wings too. That was cool. On the plane I played chess with my mom and I kicked her butt. Then we watched The It. I agree now It is NOT APPROPRIATE FOR KIDS. It was so scary when I saw the historic Mr. Scream. You cannot even imagine.

I'm glad you arrived safely. What did you travel on after disembarking the airplane? I'm so sorry that your classmates responded to the wrong entry. This is what happens when you don't follow directions.

We took a car with a driver from Hanoi to Halong. We will be in Ha Long for a month.

October 16, 2019 Ahoy seagulls, wait, no, you are land dwellers. Har har har. Well yee day was normal and I am going to get back to normal talking instead pirate language. For breakfast we went to some food stalls in an alley way near my school. I had banh bao (steamed bread stuffed with meats and eggs), vegetarian scrambled eggs, cha gio (pork sausage), xoi (sticky rice), and ice tea – all Vietnamese food I love. When my mom went to pay, it all cost only $1.50!! I was surprised that it did not cost a lot at all. Then I had to go to the place where I get tutored. Normally it is for 3 hours or more but now because I get my work done faster, I can leave after 2 hours. Today it rained so I couldn't go swimming. So, my mom went to get me a chess set and paper to draw instead. At the supply store I saw Halloween stuff. My mom was right, they do celebrate Halloween in Vietnam. Heading Back to Ha Long Bay

I am going to Ha Long Bay with my mother. She is a professor that is researching in Vietnam. I will learn about the history of the Bay. I know that there are high levels of pollution there. I saw it last time I went to Ha Long. I will try to learn more about the environment and try to help with clean up. My mother will be working with a Shaman who is a spiritual healer. I sometimes think I have special powers too. For instance, I can sometimes see spirits an channel the dead. Ha Long Bay is a magical place with many spiritual wonders. I can hardly wait to go again. I will go swimming every day if I finish my homework from Ms. Chan. I wish this was a vacation with no homework but it sadly is :( At least I can blog to you dudes and dudettes of the fun I am having. This was a picture of me when I was in Ha Long Bay at 8 years old.

Day Three - The Market

October 13, 2019 The Market  This morning Co  Oanh and Bi came to see us ( wife and son of the Shaman) . We were hungry, so they took us to have  banh cuon  for breakfast, it is  some sort of rice dish with meat. I had it many times before. It was pretty good here, especially cha lua ( fish patty)  that came with it. But, I think it was made of squid instead, cha muc. Then we went to a coffee shop. We were there for a LOOOONG time because my mom ordered filter drip coffee and it takes forever to drip (see pix). I didn't mind because Bi knows a lot of kids in the neighborhood and we hung out playing miniature pool and even crossed the street by ourselves to meet with other kids.  After breakfast we went to the market to get ingredients to make lunch.  The market was crazy because people drove TANKS in there. LOL Okay, just kidding, why would they do that? It is still crazy though, because instead of tanks, they drove mopeds and motorbikes...
